Worked with Owen to recategorize Books. Added books to catalog.

Looked up some new cataloging programs. Re-shelved all books. Labeled everything. Cleaned.

From home: Wrote status update for Owen. Looked up more cataloging software. At the IMRC: Tried out Readerware.

Cleaned up the Readerware catalog for Artist Monologue, Shelf1. Spent about an hour on that. Then figured out how to transfer from Booxter and ended up wasting the work. It’s worth it though. I understand the program better. It’s much easier than Booxter. Transferred books from Booxter to Readerware. I was going to stay and work longer but I set Readerware to auto-update. It seemed to be going fast but then it started to drag on so I just left it to finish. I will work on it again tomorrow.

Waited on Readerware to finish the auto update. Then I deleted duplicates and cleaned up the categories. Then I sorted three shelves of books. This would probably go faster but there are still things I am learning about the program. I find the search function a bit cumbersome. It is good because you can search by a lot of categories, but I haven’t found the most convenient default settings. I miss the lists on Booxter (but that is the only thing). It’s harder to work in sections when the total number of books is so big. There has to be a way to work on each category without constantly having to research to get to it. Maybe if I save the screen view? Anyway, I also added a Category 2 that says “verified.” This is so that I can verify every book that I physically inspect and match to the catalog. When I have finished the whole library, I will know which books are unaccounted for. Oh, and Owen moved more books that are in the wrong places. Sadly, this means I have to move a whole wall of books that I already moved once in order to make room. UG.
